Japanese painting is an art form with a long history that is rare in the world, and is the very culture of which Japan is proud to be a part, having inherited traditional painting materials and techniques from ancient times to the present day. At the same time, however, it has become a difficult art to learn and is far removed from everyday life. The Japanese Painting Association provides a place where people can consult about history, learning methods, painting materials, exhibitions, sales and other information, and passes on Japanese painting to the next millennium.
Japanese painting is a collaborative effort between craftsmen and artists. Each tool has its own history and many are made from Japanese nature. The skills and spirit of the artisans have been spun over millennia.
